Free Comics to free the children!

Hey everybody!

If you didn't see the Colbert Report last night, let me direct you to this clip where he talks to the co-founder of a Canadian organization called Free The Children, which is dedicated to ending child labor around the world.

[link]

This got me thinking about what I could do to help. Well here's something; From now on, if you donate $10 or more to Free The Children [link] I'll send you a free copy of my book! Just fire me an e-mail at stevelec (at) hotmail.com or a Facebook message with your mailing address and I'll mail you a copy. Also, if you aren't comfortable with using your credit card to donate, you can twitter or blog about what I'm doing or about the organization or set up your own fundraising page and I'll consider it a fair trade.

I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do for the kids!

Thanks guys!

Steve

I found your work through your recent DD -- your stuff is astounding! I love your style. What are your influences? The way you blend a humorous flair with a traditional comic-book style is great!

Oddly enough, we both have a character named Una, although the two couldn't be more different!

I can't wait to spend some time digging deeper into your gallery!

Thank you! I have a lot of influences including Bill Watterson, Walt Kelly, Lewis Trondheim, Sergio Aragones, Goscinny and Uderzo, E.C. Segar, Jeff Smith, Danny Antonucci (couldn't be helped, I used to work for him) and lots of others.

Drop in any time! :)

I almost asked about Sergio Aragones! I can see the Walt Kelly too!

BTW, great nickname, Fosdick! I've never read any of the Fosdick strips, but I know enough of the history to appreciate it.

Glad you got that DD so I could find your work! I will be a dedicated watcher and eager fan.
